Northeast has an NSF EAGER MAKER grant where we have Fridays@Northeast course where high school juniors and seniors attend Northeast on Friday mornings for a semester to take the ENGR 1010 course with the ENGR 1990 Makerspace Lab. I will briefly discuss the class and the activities that the students can attempt.
I will have some of the activities available for NATS participants to try (and the web addresses where all of the developed curriculum/activities used in the Makerspace Lab are located). Activities will include making paper towers to fit a specific set of parameters; developing the procedures to construct a paper tower; designing and making paper circuits; making and measuring snap circuits; constructing wire wrap circuits; testing rubberband & propeller-driven cars (may also bring other activities).
I will have examples of prototypes that various teams have designed and constructed, including a ones using the Shop Bot Desktop (CNC "router"), the TAZ 6 3-D printer, and some of the various power tools (mostly woodworking).
